Our beginnings
From a devoted home to Nandalay.
The first Pushtimarg Haveli in Houston began in 1984 in the garage of a devoted Vaishnav’s home, Sarlaben J. Patel. In June 2005, Lord Shri Nathjee occupied His permanent home — Nandalay.

In the original Haveli, Dahiben Desai (Dahiba) served as the very first Mukhyaji (priest) until 1991, when the construction of the current Haveli was completed.
In 1991, the venue of worship and mode of service changed. VPSS began serving Shri Nathjee’s Swaroop provided by P P Goswami 108 Shri Indira Betijee Mahodaya, in the Surat-Baroda Gaadi tradition. The interim 5,000 sq ft office building was converted to suit the community’s needs, while Vaishnavas hoped to build a permanent facility.
A real thrust came with Chhapan Bhog in 1996. VPSS purchased land, raised funds, discussed the scope of the facility, drafted by-laws approved by 86% of members, hired an architectural firm and general contractor, secured loans, and built the modern facility. Vision, faith, persistent effort, encouragement from Vallabh Kul, and the Krupa of Shree Nathjee brought VPSS to where it is today.
